Landscape Examples
The photo on this page was shot with my
Canon 1DS MK II using auto white balance. It was converted from
RAW to TIFF using each RAW converter's default color and
exposure choices. The TIFF files were then converted and tagged to sRGB. I converted these images to sRGB because the conversion to sRGB insures, as much
as is possible, that the colors I saw in Photoshop will be the same
colors the viewer will see in their web browser or imaging program. The
RGB histograms under each image were from the original TIFF
image.
Looking at the histograms from the images below you can see
that there is a noticeable difference in the default contrast curve
applied by each RAW converter. |

It is important to
remember that these images are presented as constructed from each RAW
converter's default settings. These images are not representative of the
best image that each RAW converter is capable of producing. All of these
images could be improved with a little work in the RAW converter. |
