PHOTOGRAPHER'S COMMENTS: The praying mantis photos on this web site were from a study I did using two mantis that I purchased at a pet store. The experience was interesting and informative but I'll never do it again. Keeping pets of this sort made me see the cruelty of keeping any sort of wild animal in captivity. Besides I hated to feed them their cricket dinners. I felt like an executioner. I guess I'm still waiting for the biblical 'manna from heaven' to fall to the earth so all God's creatures have something to eat and can live in peace.
