Steve Hoffmann's Nature and Landscape Photography The photos on this web site are now available in two basic print sizes at a special SALE PRICE. These photos are also available as digital images in resolutions suitable for various types of publications. High resolution digital images can be shipped on CDROM or made available to download via FTP or from your web browser. Using one of my photo images on your own web site will cost $25 for a web site copyright release. My photo prints are made with an Epson Stylus PRO 4000 wide bed professional quality photo printer. These Giclée (French - to squirt) prints are made using continuous tone high end ink-jet technology. This relatively new medium for both artists and photographers is becoming very popular because of its unparalleled color range and color longevity. Epson's UltraChrome imaging system uses pigmented inks and produces photographic prints that will be fade resistant for 80-200 years if mounted behind glass. This level of color fastness is equal to or better than any other photo printing process. Pigmented ink photographic prints are now recognized by museums for their archival permanence. My film images are scanned to high resolution using dedicated film scanners. These film scans and the digital photos from my DSLR cameras are then carefully processed in Photoshop to insure maximum image detail and accurate colors. The precise digital controls I have available for color balance, tonal range and burning and dodging allow me to make photographic prints that are technically superior to prints made in a traditional optical darkroom. *Photos from the 'Large Format' category of this web site will print to 11X14 or 16X20. All of the other photos on this web site print to 11X17 or 16X24. Photos with 'custom crop' listed in the darkroom category under the photo may not print exactly to these sizes. Photos marked as 'custom crop' in the photo details under the photo will not print to any of the standard sizes listed above. However 'custom crop' photos ordered using the buy button on the photo page will be printed with equal or greater print area than the print size listed in the 'size selection' drop down menu. If you need to know the exact size that a photo marked 'custom crop' will print to, send email including the photo's name and number available at the top of each photo page.
